Our last month of dance is here! This month is going to be so much fun! Our Year-End Showcase is scheduled for the end of the month, picture day is coming up and much more, keep reading to find out everything you need to know this month!
Competitive Students
Competitive choreography classes are done for the season, there will be no competitive classes from May 31st to June 4th, below is the technique schedule for our last month of dance. These will be the only competitive classes running this month!

Open Class Students
Classes with Miss Michaela on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s and the performance team classes with Miss Jasmine on Wednesday’s will be running the same until Wednesday June 22nd.
Picture Day
Our picture day is scheduled for Saturday June 18th and Sunday June 19th at the studio, the schedule for picture day can be found here: Picture Day Schedule
Please order pictures before picture day via the following link to ensure the correct pictures are taken on picture day, Order Pictures Here.
Please arrive at least half an hour before the set picture time with full stage makeup and hair in a low slicked bun with a middle part.
Costumes
We will be keeping your dancer’s costume(s) until the Year-End Show to ensure they are not forgotten or damaged during travel. We will transport them from the studio to the dress rehearsal and to all shows. Please leave your dancer’s costume(s) at John Diefenbaker Senior School after the dress rehearsal and all shows. After the final show on Sunday you may take your dancer’s costume(s) home to keep.
Year-End Showcase
Our Year-End Showcase will be taking place from Thursday June 23rd to Sunday June 26th at John Diefenbaker Senior School located at 201 18th Avenue in Hanover
Thursday June 23rd: Dress Rehearsal beginning at 5pm
Friday June 24th: Show #1 beginning at 6pm
Saturday June 25th: Show #2 beginning at 2pm
Sunday June 26th: Show #3 beginning at 2pm
All dances will be included in the Year-End Showcase including all competition routines, recreational routines, and the performance team. Thursday and Saturday drop-in classes will not be included in the Year-End Showcase. Please arrive at least one hour before the scheduled dress rehearsal time and at least one hour before the beginning of all shows with full hair and makeup done.

Please thoroughly read through the parent handbook leading up to our Year-End Showcase weekend as it has all of the information you may need for the weekend.
Tickets
Pre-sale ticket sales for all dance families will begin on May 2nd at 8am, there is no limit on how many tickets each family may purchase. On May 16th tickets will be advertised to the public. Seating for the Year-End Show will be on a first come first serve basis so plan to arrive early to secure a good seat!

Ticket sales end June 23rd at 12:30pm, if you would like to purchase any additional tickets please purchase them at the door before each show, we hope to see you there!
Please note one parent/guardian must remain with dancers who are 10 years old and younger at all times while they are backstage in the dressing rooms. Please wait backstage to collect your dancer once they are done performing. You may not sneak into the audience to watch, and then come back to collect them after because we want to ensure all dancers are accounted for as there will be no supervision backstage. If you would like to sit in the audience, you must purchase a ticket and have someone else watch your dancer backstage for that show.
Hair and Makeup
We would like for each dancer to have their hair pulled back in a low slicked bun with a middle part. Hair nets that match the colour of the dancer's hair are highly encouraged. Please ensure the hair elastics used are the same colour as the dancers hair, bobby pins are used to secure any loose hair, and gel and hair spray are used to secure any wispies.
We would like for all dancers to have subtle face makeup with red lipstick for the dress rehearsal and shows. This includes some blush, bronzer, a little brown eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and red lipstick.
Full hair and makeup are expected for both the dress rehearsal and all shows. Below are two pictures of Miss Michaela to give a visual idea of how stage makeup and hair should look.

Note that the eyeshadow pallet and lipstick used in these videos has changed, if you are looking for a list of makeup used in these videos that has been recommended by the teachers this year see this link: Recommended Makeup.
Additional Notes of Importance
If your dancer is in any ballet class, they must have pink leather full sole ballet slippers and ballet pink full foot tights for both picture day and the Year-End Showcase. These can be found through the following links: Ballet Slippers and Ballet Tights. Both of these items are off of Inspirations Dancewear website, they are located in Kitchener and ship right to your door for you.
For the Year-End Show please only pack water and healthy snacks that will not stain costumes, faces, or mouths.
